Granada Pedestrian Footbridge
Client: Granada City Council
A 45-metre steel pedestrian footbridge with ramp and lift access, designed to connect two neighbourhoods separated by a busy road.
The challenge
Designing a structure that met all the technical requirements of a public works project: seismic calculation, universal accessibility and maximum durability in an urban environment.
Our solution
Main structure in S355 steel with hot-dip galvanised protection. Open-grid flooring and stainless steel finishes on contact elements. The entire project was developed using BIM methodology.
Results
- 45 metres long and 3 metres wide
- 100% accessibility compliant with current regulations
- Estimated service life: 50+ years
- Recognised in the municipal public works competition
